On Time & Catching Up
So we’re nearing the end of the current semester and I can’t believe how time really flies (esp when you only have school once a week). Yesterday was the last IL2 session. Can’t say that I didn’t enjoy the lab sessions (if stoning nearly every Wednesday morning constitutes as enjoyment). Dr Tan was really cool about stuff like lab reports. Not so say that he didn’t bother about it, but he was flexible as long as you didn’t try to play punk with him. I heard from Des yesterday that the questions to our Practical Test will be set by (horrors) Dr Koh. This is gonna make scoring a little more challenging…
BTN is still being a bitch. The last round of presentations were wrapped up yesterday, so lectures will continue next week. Thank god we’re already finishing, although CYC claims we are running out of time before Common Test II. Can you believe it? Common Test I, Common Test II and the Exams. But I can’t complain since I have loads of time on my hands. Seriously, I’ve never been free-er in my entire life. I only have school on Wednesdays and work on Saturdays. But of course I do alternate between doing prep work for school, preparing my lesson plans and basically doing whatever I wanna do.
So during my free time, I managed to catch up with a couple of dear friends as well as attend G’s play. The play was funny although I would’ve preferred if it was less politically correct. G, you sure as hell nailed your part.
Jan is back in SG for a school vacation. Of course not before travelling to Italy and NY (like yeah, the NY, lucky ass). I’m happy that she soaked up the artistic vibes of NY and managed to catch Stephen Colbert. Oh and of course there were presents for Val and I. Over a cuppa at Starbucks, we were chatting about Facebook, Stephen Colbert (Val and I swore that Jan has a type) and Jan experiencing what I’d like to call a “Lit Cult” (seriously what else can you call a congregation of people at a supremely-thick-and-supremely-cheem-and-obscenely-long book reading with singing and dancing intervals?).
My friends, especially Val are anti-Facebook because they don’t see the point of POKING random people online. They also don’t really get the phenomena of “blurred lights” pictures posted on Facebook accounts. Neither do I. Val borders on mild paranoia whenever she talks about Facebook stalkers. Then, one of the funnier bits came later when Jan said, “I don’t stalk on online forums, I just lurk…”
